Dangling adjustment cords are a hazard, but you don’t have to sacrifice the beauty and function of your window coverings to achieve a child-safe house. Here are three things to consider when choosing your child-safe Hunter Douglas window treatments:
Keep it Cordless
The biggest danger window treatments present to children is from dangling cords, especially those with loops. The best way to child-proof your window treatments, then, is to stick with cordless adjustments such as LiteRise® and SimpleLift™. LiteRise® is a simple lift/pull adjustment system that leaves the window treatment in place wherever you stop, and it is available on Hunter Douglas products, including Design Studio™ Roller Shades, Duette® Honeycomb Shades, Silhouette® Window Shadings, and many more. This system uses either a small retractable cord or an ergonomic wand to raise and lower your shades.
