3 Features for Blocking the Light Around Your Window Blinds
Window blinds are a great way to control light and privacy in your home. However, there's one problem with window blinds and their ability to control light; frequently, blinds let light leak through. It may not be very much, just a peek through a cord hole or a sliver sneaking out from behind a blind, but that much light can still ruin your sleep and drive you crazy. Thankfully, there are many different solutions for just this situation. Hunter Douglas has developed three unique features, all designed to block light around your window blinds so you can have the exact light level you want.
1. Duolite®
The most flexible light control option offered by Hunter Douglas is their Duolite® system. This innovative system combines the attributes of two different fabric shades into one treatment. First is the light-filtering fabric, which lets you maintain your privacy while letting light filter in through your windows. On the same roller behind this fabric is the room-darkening opaque liner, which gives you complete mastery of the light you need. You can completely block out as much light as you need to exactly when needed. The combination of these two fabrics on one blind gives you precise control over how much light is in your home at any point. You no longer have to worry about streaks or dots of light running through the atmosphere in your home.
2. Lightlock®
Lightlock® technology from Hunter Douglas turns your ordinary shades into the perfect room-darkening solution. This feature takes the form of U-shaped side channels that are blended seamlessly into the window frame. These channels absorb or deflect any incoming light, preventing stray beams of light from leaking into your home.
This technology is the perfect addition to any window treatment where complete light control is essential. Living rooms, bedrooms, and movie rooms are just a few spaces where this addition can provide outstanding benefits and keep you satisfied with your space.
3. De-light™
The cord holes are one of the most annoying places where light can leak through your window shades. These fundamental parts of a shade’s structure keep the whole thing connected and let you reposition the slats, but that doesn’t mean that they have to let light through. It's rather self-defeating for the shades that you want to block light and let light through a bunch of tiny holes.
Fortunately, Hunter Douglas’ De-Light™ technology minimizes or can even eliminate the cord hole. This dramatically reduces the amount of incoming light and gives you the desired darkness. No longer do you have to deal with annoying pinpricks of light piercing through the shades explicitly designed to block sunlight; instead, you’ll just get complete darkness.
